You can puke while you're walking.
The Daily Drip
I was running in the mountains yesterday and I remembered something that I heard from one of my mentors.
He's an ultrarunner. That means that he runs races that are over the length of a marathon. I think the longest one he's ever done is 100 miles.
I was chatting with him about some challenges I was facing and I asked about how he applied his ultrarunning mentality to his work and life.
He said:
"It's just toil.
You can complain while you walk. You can cry while you walk. You can puke while you walk. There's no reason to stop moving. The goal isn't to 'redline' the whole way. The mentality is 'relentless forward progress.'"
What a badass.
I hope this message motivates you, today.
If you don't feel like you can keep going, just go slower--don't stop.
