The Indirect Philosophy of Success
A friend of mine does this perfectly and it's time to share his strategy.
I have a friend with a great philosophy about life.
Instead of trying to get rich, famous, or stick-it-to-the-man, his philosophy is about serving others.
What I mean is that he wants to make all of the people around him successful.
He will help them however he can. He’ll spend time with them. He’ll connect them to people his network. He’ll share resources. He wants everyone around him to be rich and famous.
I mean, who doesn’t want to be surrounded by ambitious, successful people?
My friend Christian is a perfect example of someone who has figured out how to execute “servant leadership” on a consistent basis.
In this model, we see a more indirect path to individual success.
Success for ourselves is just the side effect of the help we’ve given to others not really the goal.
I hope this helps you think about how you choose to interact with those around you and how you approach the ambitious ladder you’ve set for yourself. I also hope it helps you think about how you approach business and work.
Aw you wrote about me 😊 never quite thought of my approach articulated this way.
