If you’re like me, you are probably about to get stuck into the same habits and behaviors.
That’s not so bad if you’re happy with them—but most of us feel like we could improve.
As you start 2021, you’re likely waking up at the same time you normally do, having the same cup of coffee, pulling your phone out to check your email, etc.
Most people see January as the opportunity to change something about their lives, but they can often get stuck in the same rut.
Whether you like it or not, that’s the power of habit.
Have you tried doing something dramatically different?
Have you tried disrupting your pattern in a big, broad, sweeping way?
People like Tony Robbins would say this is the way to develop a new habit, but I’d say it’s more accurate that it’s just a helper in your attempt to break an old habit.
New habits take nearly a month to start taking root and feel easier. So, your goal today shouldn’t be to have a new habit. It should be to break any habit or routine that isn’t serving you.
Go ahead, give yourself permission to play offense this month.
