Someone said recently:
“After the world is back to normal, what are you more excited for? Social time or alone time?”
This struck me.
I guess I didn’t consciously realize that it’s been hard to get either of those things for the last several months. I’m not sure what my own answer to this question is, which means I should probably plan for both.
One of the things helping me see the light at the end of the tunnel is planning some adventures for late summer and early fall.
I’m not really a homebody. I like to be running up things, jumping off of things, or otherwise up to some mischief. That’s how I recharge.
If you’re feeling like you’re not getting what you need to feel recharged, it might be worth taking a minute this weekend to look out a few months and plan something. It sounds so simple, but even just planning a cheap road trip with a friend really made a difference in my outlook for the year.
This probably seems really obvious, but sometimes it’s the obvious things that slip right past us.
The truth is that COVID-19 will never be “over.” We’ll likely have a “COVID-19 season,” just like we have a “flu season.”
In the meantime, what are you doing to stay optimistic about the final months of the pandemic? I’d love to hear what has served you during the last year.
