There’s something funny that happens when you talk about something long enough. You hit the edge of your understanding. You reach the limit of your expertise.
One way to test your expertise about something is to commit to writing about it every day for a few months. How far can you go? How many rabbit holes can you deeply explore and find meaningful punchlines?
I find that committing to daily blog posts forces me to expand my understanding so that I can share more deeply and more meaningfully.
If you’re working on something that requires expertise in some capacity, consider testing your limits by writing or speaking on your topic. You might find that you’re able to expand your capability, just by putting yourself through the motions.
I like this approach because not only do you perform the test, but you also achieve an output. And you know I love feeding two birds with one worm.
Great post, and well done on living it!!
