You've heard me talk about this before, but it's worth mentioning again because, you know, humans forget things. Myself included.
I want to share a tactic that I learned from my friends and professional network.
It's helpful when you haven't been able to make yourself sit down and work on something. It's helpful when you have a roadblock that you can't seem to work through by yourself. It's helpful when you have been procrastinating on a project.
It's called accountabilibuddy day.
Carve out a day.
Get a good, reliable friend to join you.
For half the day, both of you work on your friend's project. For the other half of the day, both of you work on your project.
It's so easy. You're just tag-teaming. Nothing crazy or difficult.
All this does is help bring more accountability, creativity, and intention to your work. Plus, it helps both of you! No one is asking for a favor!
I've done this with an entire weekend. One day is for my friend, the other day is for me. We work for 8-10 hours each day, which leaves plenty of time for goofing off, going out for dinner, and decompressing.
It's so easy to set this up and most people love the idea.
Next time you run into a roadblock, procrastination, or trouble making time--just schedule an accountabilibuddy day.
