Why making a mess is important
The Daily Drip
Sometimes, you just need to paint your belly instead of the canvas.
Let me explain.
I was on a facetime call with my partner's 3-year old nieces. This morning was a painting experiment. It was everywhere.
When we get older, we become more concerned with painting in the lines. It's less interesting to test out how the paint feels on our skin than it is to keep it on the paper.
When we're using all our senses, we get the opportunity to take in new information. When we're painting the picture on the box, we're following a formula. There's less thinking, curiosity, and sometimes less excitement involved. There's definitely less discovery, too.
Anyway, for many of us, Saturday is a wide-open possibility to experiment, try something new, mess up, make a mess, or get paint all over ourselves.
Go for it. Make a mess, today.
Don't worry, it'll wash out later.
