Try this instead of judging others
The Daily Drip
It's so easy to say "that person is stupid because they don't believe what I believe."
It's our default, as humans, to seek in- and out-group members. People who are part of our tribe and people who are outsiders.
This is how we're wired.
As we grow as a species, it's more important than ever to see those differences and respond with curiosity instead of judgment.
I've said this before and I'll say it again. One of my mentors called me out with this language recently and it's still ringing in my head.
"Your job is not to be the judge of other people, it's to be a detective."
The more we act like detectives, the more we'll find common ground. The more we understand each other, the more united we can be.
And when we're better listeners, we're better learners.
Isn't that why you're here?
