Losing our spirit between the church and the parking lot
The Daily Drip
It's funny how we have our shopping sprees in such close proximity to our day of thanks and reflection.
It's not unlike us humans to have thoughts and counter-thoughts so close together. It's not even uncommon for us to believe completely conflicting things simultaneously.
How many people will walk out of church, synagogue, or temple and immediately resume their road rage in the parking lot?
How many of us will be thankful for what we have, but then envy our neighbor?
This weekend is a great opportunity to ride out the thanksgiving buzz and alleviate the strange hangover that clouds us from keeping those healthy thoughts in our minds.
I love annual holidays because they offer us another chance to reconnect with the spirit of gratitude and reevaluate how we'll hold it in our hearts a little longer.
Happy Saturday.
