A trick for staying level-headed

The Daily Drip
I recently did an exercise where I listed out everything I'm bad at.
Actually, I made a few lists.
List 1 - Everything I'm bad at.
List 2 - Everything I'm good at.
List 3 - Everything I used to be good at.
List 4 - Everything I wish I was good at.
Yep. That's a lot of lists. If you've been a reader for a while you probably know by now that I love lists. What's even better, though, is what you can do with a list.
Once I brain dumped everything into neat little lines, I took a very important step.
I ranked each list by how good or bad I was at each thing.
What's useful about this is realizing how nothing in these lists is binary, black and white, good or bad.
They each exist on a scale. I'm not terrible at all of them. I'm not a master of any of them.
I'm not as good or as bad as I thought.
What a powerful realization to keep a mind level-headed.
The next time you find yourself swinging too far one way or another, try writing these lists and remembering that you're never as good or as bad as you think.
