What to do instead of judging others
The Daily Drip
As we look at our divided country and wonder "how could anyone vote for THAT guy?" . . .
I think it's helpful to think of our interactions with some frame of reference.
It's easy to judge. We know that.
So, what else could we do instead?
Your job isn't to be the judge or jury. Your job is to be a detective.
Your job is to listen to others and use empathy to understand someone else's world view.
You don't have to agree, but you have to do the difficult detective work to figure out how someone came to a different conclusion than you.
The next time you feel that wave of judgment coming on, try putting on your detective hat instead.
