Guaranteeing performance
The Daily Drip
You're probably here because you want to improve something.
Yourself? The world? All of the above?
There's a formula that all the fancy 6 Sigma industrial productivity people use.
It's nothing new, but the format is helpful to revisit for structured practice.
It's called DMAC:
Define what's important.
Measure how you're doing.
Analyze what's wrong.
Improve or figure out what needs to be done.
Control some of those factors so you can guarantee performance.
Obviously, it's not reasonable to guarantee performance in all areas of life--actually, probably not any.
But the framework is helpful in practicing how we can think about problems and problem-solving.
I think we often forget one or more of these steps in our problem-solving practice in our careers and in our work--I know I do.
