Life is just easier when you're on a team
The Daily Drip
I was talking with a friend recently and he said "you know I was thinking about reaching out to you and I don't know why I didn't. Something really bad happened and I felt like you would be someone who would understand."
One of the challenges that we face when we take on big missions is the simple and excruciating pain of feeling alone. Sometimes we feel alone even if we didn't take on anything--life is just like that sometimes.
We might not even actually be alone, but that doesn't mean it doesn't feel like it.
If you have an idea that no one else believes in but you work hard to make a reality, you might feel alone.
If you are part of a team where values aren't shared, you might feel alone.
If you are like me and have a predisposition to depression and anxiety, you might feel alone.
One of the ways to overcome this is to reach out to your network. This is also one of the hardest things to do when you feel alone and anxious. That's just what the brain does. It's a downward spiral and it's not fun.
But one of the things that you're a part of is this community.
You might not know this, but you have access to other people, readers, like you.
We connect in our private slack group to share wins, losses, and thoughts.
We'd love to see you there.
Even if you aren't ready to contribute, I hope that you join us and get some value.
Here's the invite link.
From now on, I'm going to include this link in the footer of the Daily Drip emails so that you are always reminded that you're not alone.
