How to grow infinite basil
The Daily Drip
Since the beginning of quarantine, I've been growing some basil plants.
They started out as these small saplings we bought from the grocery store for $2.99.
We did the normal things, like put them in the sun and give them plenty of water, but we also did a little homework to learn how to make them grow a bit more.
It turns out, that if you cut the basil stalk in the right place and put it in water for a few days, it will grow new roots. This means that every couple of weeks you can plant entirely new stalks of basil. In a couple of weeks, you will have a forest of basil. Infinite basil!
The hidden lesson in this is that watering a lot of basil plants is just about the same amount of work as watering only one or two basil plants--but the yield is exponentially higher. By learning this little trick, we were able to multiply our output and keep our "costs" the same.
This doesn't apply to all areas of life, but I challenge you to consider this approach for whatever project you're working on, now. What could you do about your project to make it produce 10x the results without a correlation to effort?
It might be worth a few minutes trying to figure this out. It might be worth taking a class online to figure this out. It might even be worth hiring a world-class expert to figure this out. I don't believe there is a 10x solution to everything but it sure feels worth it to evaluate the possibility strongly.
